Infinix may not be the first brand to come to mind when it comes to smartphones, but it has undoubtedly established itself as a budget-oriented smartphone maker in Pakistan. The Shenzhen-based subsidiary of Transition Holdings has completed 2021 with the launch of the Infinix Note 11 series. The series consists of Infinix Note 11 and Infinix Note 11S. The highlight of the Note 11S is the 120Hz display, while the standard Note 11 brings the AMOLED panel .
Infinix Note 11
I have been using the Infinix Note 11 for over a week now and enjoy the AMOLED experience as an enthusiastic multimedia consumer. While the phone has the right to brag in this segment when it comes to the screen, the experience has been overshadowed by ordinary suspects who are also concerned about the Note 11S. Here’s a detailed look at how the the Infinix Note 11 performs in everyday use

Design and display
164.43 x 76.66 x 7.9 mm, 184 g 6.7 “FHD + LTPS AMOLED display, 100% DCI-P3 Color Gamut, 100000: 1 contrast ratio, 650 nits peak brightness, 91% screen-body ratio
The Infinix Note 11 impressed me with its straight edge design inspired by the iPhone. Although the phone has a completely flat design, the corners are rounded to prevent it from slipping into your palm during use. Also, the Infinix Note 11 is only 7.9 mm thin and weighs 184 g, which increases the overall ergonomics of the device. On the side, the full polycarbonate construction feels sticky to the touch.
The Infinix has a stylish black TPU body with graffiti on the back and retains some stickiness. The matte finish on the back is stain resistant and the Glacier Green option I bought looks great. Users also have the opportunity to choose from the Celestial Snow and Graphite Black color groups.
Speaking of the rear panel, the Infinix retains the same Vivo-esque camera module we saw in the Note 11S. Fortunately, there are no fake camera cuts, but giant black circles still exist. Other elements of the smartphone are the same as the Note 11S, including input / output ports, buttons and a fingerprint scanner. Unlocking with a fingerprint scanner and face works fast enough and accurately
On display, the Infinix Note 11 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, an innovation in this price segment. As expected, the screen offers more vibrant colors, deeper blacks, and enough brightness to use even in sunlight. However, thanks to the water droplet notch above and the large jaw, it looks a bit worn.
The display panel supports FHD + screen resolution and comes with Wide Vine L1 certification. This means that those who consume OTT content on their phones in the first place will be able to enjoy HD content streaming on the Infinix Note 11. While working on my smartphone, I watched a lot of The Silent Sea and Stay Close on Netflix and fully enjoyed the experience. The experience is further enhanced by the dual speaker system with DTS Audio
Cameras
The 50-megapixel main sensor, 2-megapixel depth sensor, QVGA AI lens 16-megapixel sensor has the same camera structure as the Infinix Note 11 Note 11S, except that the 2-megapixel macro sensor is replaced by a QVGA AI lens. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera sensor inside the water droplet notch for selfies and video calls. The camera interface and modes are the same as the Infinix Note 11S. You get several modes like HDR, 50MP, short video, video, AI Cam, Beauty, Portrait and Super Night. There are also options such as AR Capture, Slow Motion, Pro, Panorama, Documents and Time Break.
Starting with the Infinix Note 11S, I didn’t have high expectations, and rightly so. Like the 11S, the daylight images from the Note 11 were pale and devoid of any details. Therefore, the images were not straight and attractive to the eye. Turn on 50MP mode and get a larger picture size with the same output. When it comes to low-light images, the camera even struggles with a special night mode. Night mode enhances the exposure, but does little to improve the details. Also, moving objects at night are often blurry because they use longer shutter speeds.
When it comes to custom lenses, the depth sensor does a good job of separating the subject from the background, creating a natural-looking blur. But the color reproduction and details are still at the bottom. The AI lens quickly detects close-ups and regular shots. But you’ll need patience and steady hands to get accurate close-up shots. Most of these issues can be fixed with an OTA update, but Infinix software is not recognized by the update frequency. When it comes to selfies, the 16-megapixel camera captures the right skin tone with good detail and also takes good portraits.
Performance, software, and battery
MediaTek Helio G88 is equipped with 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB XOS v10.0.0 Android 11 based 5000mAh battery, Infinix Note 11 with 33W fast charging as well as MediaTek Helio G88 SoC powering Primereview 10. The smartphone is offered in two variants – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. I bought the first one for this review. The smartphone runs out of the box of XOS V10.0.0 based on Android 11. However, in the final phase of the research period, the brand released an OTA update that brings the MemFusion functionality to the smartphone. MemFusion is basically a virtual RAM expander up to 3GB where the system uses some of the internal memory as RAM for better operation. Although this improved my work a lot, I couldn’t live without it due to lack of time.
With 4GB of internal RAM, the Infinix Note 11 is said to work well for daily use with light multitasking. As for the game, Battleground Mobile India (BGMI) opens with standard HD graphics and High Speed settings. With these settings, the game was played without any frame drops or stuttering. However, after 30 minutes of gaming session, the back panel gets hot
As for the software, Infinix Note 11 runs on the same XOS v10.0.0 as Note 11S based on Android 11. You get the same iOS-inspired design and features with X Hide, X Clone, Game Mode, Lightning Multi-video, Social Turbo, Peek Proof, and Smart Panel. Persistent notifications from Hi Browser and BoomPlay are also available here, but they can be turned off from the notification panel. Long story short, the XOS interface requires a lot of spitting and polishing before recommending it to others.
Coming to the battery, the Infinix Note 11 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that comes with 33W fast charging support. First, the smartphone charges from zero to 100 percent in less than 60 minutes, which is impressive in terms of battery size. While working with the Note 11, I used it a lot for social media, YouTube, casual Netflix and about 30 minutes of casual gaming. With this usage, I could easily see a day and a half on a single charge, which is still pretty impressive.
As a result
This is a great choice if you’re looking for a budget smartphone with the bright screen Infinix Note 11 and long battery life. The AMOLED panel is a novelty in this price segment, and the dual speaker structure makes the entire multimedia experience enjoyable. With moderate use, you can use your smartphone comfortably for at least two days. Note that the smartphone looks good in Glacier Green. But the XOS interface requires a lot of work and optimization. Also, low-end camera performance won’t sit well with everyone.
Starting at Rs 12,999, the Moto G31 offers a clean Android experience with a better 50MP + 8MP + 2MP rear camera installation. The smartphone is equipped with the Helio G85 SoC, which is the same as the Helio G88, but with less camera and display support. The combination of stock Android and similar performance makes the Moto G31 a better choice between the two. You also get an FHD + AMOLED display and a 5000 mAh battery.
If the brand can implement camera optimizations and a cleaner interface via an OTA update in the near future, the Infinix Note 11 will no doubt feel like a better proposition here. The company has already taken the initiative to improve the user experience by developing MemFusion technology, now it just has to go the extra mile.
